There are FREE and downloadable resources including lesson plans designed to help you understand or share how light pollution negatively impacts the environment and communities and discover dark-sky friendly practices.

The Lumber Heritage Region of Pennsylvania recognizes the importance of dark skies and the urgency of protecting the night. Home to some of the darkest skies in the US East of the Mississippi River, retaining the shared human heritage that is the night sky is a priority for our organization. Dark sky advocacy is important in protecting the environment and bettering the health and well-being of ourselves, wildlife, and communities.
