25 for 25 Campaign

The story of Pennsylvania’s forests is not just a story about the past.

It is a story about:

  • The communities that grew because of the lumber industry
  • The people who worked in the woods and mills
  • The forests that continue to support our economy today
  • The museums, trails, historic sites, and cultural assets that preserve this heritage
  • The next generation who will carry these stories forward

Through scholarships and educational investments, we can help support future foresters, conservation professionals, historians, educators, tourism leaders, museum professionals, and community advocates who will continue this work.

America 250 & Lumber Heritage Region 25th Anniversary Campaign

Long before steel and concrete dominated the landscape, Pennsylvania’s forests supplied the lumber that built homes, barns, factories, railroads, bridges, mining communities, and growing cities across the nation.

The lumber industry helped shape Pennsylvania’s economy, culture, communities, and identity. Entire towns were founded because of the forest products industry, and generations of families built their livelihoods in the woods, mills, rail yards, and businesses connected to it.

As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary, Lumber Heritage Region is celebrating 25 years of preserving and sharing these stories.

The 25 for 25 Campaign is an opportunity to honor the people, places, industries, and traditions that helped build our nation while ensuring their stories continue to inspire future generations.

The campaign is designed to create both immediate and lasting impact.
