Lumber Heritage Region 2024 Annual Report: A Year of Growth and Achievement

The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) had an outstanding year in 2024, filled with impactful
projects, innovative outreach, and a continued commitment to preserving and promoting
Pennsylvania’s rich lumber heritage. Thanks to generous support from the Pennsylvania
Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and the dedication of our
community partners, we made significant strides in education, recreation, and digital
engagement.
From launching the LHT App, expanding educational outreach programs, and supporting
community-driven Mini Grant projects, to developing the Dark Sky Master Site Plan and
securing funding for a new fire tower at the PA Lumber Museum, LHR has strengthened its
impact across the region. We also prioritized technology and digital growth, securing a
Google Ads Grant and updating our website to enhance accessibility and engagement.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to unveil new projects, including an interactive display case, a
geocache trail along the LHT, and continued development of the Laurel Mill Mountain Bike
Trail and Bradford’s downtown walking trail. Additionally, we’ve set an ambitious goal of
welcoming 75 new partners and educating thousands more people on the importance of our
region’s lumber heritage.
This report showcases our collective successes and the incredible work being done to preserve
and celebrate the Past, Present, and Future of the Lumber Industry. We invite you to
explore the full report and join us in building an even stronger future for the Lumber Heritage
Region!
