Founded in 1999, the Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the rich cultural, natural, and industrial history of western Clinton County, Pennsylvania. Rooted deeply in the region's vibrant heritage—from its timber and railroad origins along the West Branch Susquehanna River to its thriving community traditions—Heritage Park serves as a hub for community engagement, historical preservation, and economic revitalization.
**Mission Statement**
Our mission is to safeguard and share the history of the Greater Renovo Area by fostering educational outreach, supporting local arts and culture, preserving historical landmarks, and enhancing recreational opportunities that honor our regional legacy.
**Leadership**
Guided by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors made up of passionate community leaders, local historians, and civic advocates, Heritage Park operates with a shared commitment to community stewardship. Our leadership works collaboratively with regional partners, local educators, and volunteers to develop heritage projects, host annual events, and maintain our historic facilities.
**Offerings & Community Initiatives**
* **Historical Exhibits & Archives:** Operating the Heritage Park Community Center and museum spaces (including the Station Gallery), showcasing local history, railroad artifacts, and timber industry exhibits.
* **Community Events:** Hosting annual gatherings, corporate programs, and regional events that bring together residents, visitors, and alumni to celebrate West Branch heritage.
* **Educational & Recreational Partnerships:** Supporting local trail development, youth programs, outdoor recreation initiatives, and historical marker extensions that connect residents and visitors to the surrounding natural landscape.
**Role Within the Lumber Heritage Region**
As a proud partner within the Lumber Heritage Region (LHR), Heritage Park serves as a vital anchor along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and the Lumber Heritage Trail network. Our work directly supports LHR’s mission by interpreting the critical role that Renovo and surrounding communities played in Pennsylvania's forestry and timber history. Through collaborative trail projects, educational initiatives, and heritage tourism, Heritage Park helps tell the enduring story of the working forests and resilient people of the PA Wilds.
