KTA's Mission
To provide, protect, preserve, and promote recreational hiking trails and hiking opportunities in Pennsylvania.
With more than 50 years in the hiking trails business, the Keystone Trails Association is fortunate to have accrued a lot of friends and dedicated volunteers. We're proud to introduce our talented and dedicated staff members, board of directors and representatives who support KTA's work through outreach, program management, advocacy, administration and more. Meet them here until you can meet them on the trail!
KTA's work is in response to hikers' desire to provide, protect, preserve, and promote recreational hiking trails and hiking opportunities in Pennsylvania.
KTA is a volunteer-directed public service organization. We are a federation of membership organizations and individuals dedicated to this mission and representing and advocating for the interests and concerns of PA's hiking community.
KTA protects hiking trail lands through support and advocacy and educates the public in the responsible use of trails and the natural environment. KTA hosts events like our hiking weekends, special skill building workshops, and partners with like-minded organizations to create region-centric outdoor experiences
🥾 Trail Advocacy
We support measures that protect hiking trails, hiking experiences, and the integrity of the environment
🏕 Trail Protection
We work with volunteers, landowners, and land managers to secure access to hiking trails and preserve trail corridors
🌲 Trail Care
We organize hands-on stewardship events and training workshops to maintain and expand hiking trails in Pennsylvania
🎒 Trail Club Support
We offer member trail and hiking groups a variety of services and activities to foster a vibrant, volunteer- rich statewide hiking constituency
🪵 Trail Promotion
We amplify hiking opportunities, encourage trail exploration, teach outdoor skills, and distribute trail information – to perpetuate low-impact outdoor enjoyment
