The Elk Expo held in Benezette, Pennsylvania is the largest elk celebration in the Northeast. It is an annual event hosted by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance and the Elk Country Visitor Center on the grounds of the visitor center. The expo takes place just before the elk rut (mating season) begins, usually in late July.
The Elk Expo offers a variety of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages, including:
Exhibits and Seminars: Learn about elk and their habitat through informative displays and presentations by experts, including the Pennsylvania Game Commission Elk Biologist.
Antler Scoring: Bring in your antlers to be scored by official antler scoring experts.
Elk Calling Contests: Witness or participate in exciting elk calling contests.
Vendors: Explore a wide variety of vendors selling food, souvenirs, and outdoor gear.
Entertainment: Enjoy live music and other family-friendly entertainment.
Elk Tag Drawings: The Pennsylvania Game Commission holds its annual elk hunting license drawing live at the expo, which attracts many hunters and spectators.
Keystone Elk Country Alliance Bull Tag Raffle: Enter a raffle for a chance to win a guided bull elk hunt, with proceeds benefiting elk conservation efforts.
The Elk Expo is a great opportunity to celebrate and learn about Pennsylvania's elk population while enjoying a fun-filled weekend in the scenic Pennsylvania Wilds. Parking is available nearby with shuttle services to the event grounds.
