News & Updates
From classrooms and libraries to festivals, parks, conferences, and community events, the Lumber Heritage Region continues to bring education and outreach opportunities to communities across the 15 counties we serve.
Whether the topic is Pennsylvania forests, conservation and industrial history, the Civilian Conservation Corps, river drives, woodworking traditions, or modern natural resource careers, our goal remains the same: helping people build meaningful connections to the heritage and future of the Lumber Heritage Region.
Organizations, schools, libraries, camps, and community groups interested in hosting a program or presentation can submit a request at:

or contact Rowan Crisp directly at rowan@lumberheritage.org.
LHR is also excited to promote several upcoming educational opportunities designed to inspire learners of all ages.
The LHR is partnering with Intermediate Unit 17 to present Built by Lumber, Shaped by STEELS on 06/17/2026 in Williamsport, PA.

The camp gives students a unique opportunity to explore careers and experiences related to forestry, conservation, wildlife, outdoor recreation, environmental science, and natural resource management.
Participants gain hands-on experience from professionals working in the field and discover how today’s conservation efforts are connected to the region’s rich forest and lumber heritage.
