Heritage / Wood On Glass
Teamsters were responsible for driving and taking care of the horses that pulled logs to the nearest stream or railhead. “When we heard the cook downstairs, we got up. We did not wake the rest of the men. We had to feed our horses and get them ready in the morning. Also, after you came in at night and ate dinner, you had to go out and work on them. At the end of the day, I watered the horses and gave them oats. After supper I went out and washed them.” A horse team perfectly matched in appearance and skill was prized for beauty as well as ability to work.
