Heritage / Wood On Glass
This view from a high vantage point shows a railroad track paralleling the gentle curves of Pine Creek Gorge in Tioga County. During the late 19th century, lumber companies feverishly built railroads to harvest previously unreachable timber. The landscape changed drastically in successive years as loggers cut down the forest and left the area. This area is now part of Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks.
