Project Details

The last promotional videos highlighting the Allegheny National Forest (ANF) Region were produced in 2005, leaving online information outdated and missing key attractions that have since emerged. With video content surging in popularity, especially among younger audiences, there was a strong need to create updated, engaging promotional videos that reflect the region’s rich history, outdoor recreation, and cultural assets.

This project captures a year-round adventure series, showcasing heritage travel, public art, and outdoor activities that invite visitors to explore beyond the interstates. From the hidden gems shaped by Lumber Barons and Oil Tycoons to the region’s scenic landscapes, these videos serve as a gateway for a new generation of travelers.

The ANF Region Video Project produced 10 promotional videos, now available on:
📍 VisitANF.com
📍 YouTube, Facebook, Instagram & Google

Additionally, the videos have been shared with local partners, businesses, and tourism organizations, offering them thousands of dollars’ worth of promotional content they would not have been able to fund independently. The project also resulted in a collection of seasonal photography, which will be utilized for Google ads, social media campaigns, and digital marketing efforts.

These new videos highlight attractions that did not exist or were not accessible in 2005, including:
🏛 Serenity Glass Park – A unique artistic space that blends history and public art
🏚 Lynn Hall – Once an abandoned structure, now fully restored, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and set to open as an Airbnb
🛢 Penn Brad Oil Museum – Telling the story of the world’s first billion-dollar oil field and independent oil producers
🐺 McCleery Discovery Center – Showcasing America’s first conservation effort to save an endangered species, the lobo wolf

As these videos gain traction, online tracking tools will measure engagement, shares, and ad performance. More importantly, the true success will be reflected in increased visitation, overnight stays, and economic growth through tourism spending. The PA Tourism Office and the Oxford Group will track these metrics, helping to quantify the impact of this revitalized marketing effort.

With millions of potential views, these videos will inspire travelers to experience the ANF Region firsthand, uncovering its history, outdoor adventures, and cultural treasures—making it a premier destination for both heritage tourism and recreation.
