Things to Do in The LHR / Wine & Spirits
Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery, located on 13 scenic acres in Curwensville, Pennsylvania, is a family-owned winery founded in 2005 with roots dating back to 1952 when Ken Starr began learning winemaking from his father. Inspired by European techniques and German styles during his time in the USAF, Starr planted the first vines in 1994, which have since grown into a vineyard of over 3,000 vines including Concord, Niagara, Traminette, Foch, and Leon Millot. The winery now offers more than 40 varieties of handcrafted wines, from dry reds and whites to sweet fruit blends like the popular “Squatch N Berry,” a huckleberry wine that supports the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship. Starr Hill provides free tastings and scenic tours at its main location and has made history by becoming the first winery in the nation to operate tasting rooms inside several Walmart stores across Pennsylvania. Open daily, the winery also serves as a picturesque venue for weddings and special events, offering guests a warm and flavorful experience in the heart of PA wine country. https://starrhillwinery.com
