Restless Oaks Family Style Restaurant opened in 1984 as a small family-owned restaurant and remains the same today. Originally it was a small diner, serving daily homemade soups, hand-pressed burgers, and a large selection of baked pies.

Restless Oaks has been a labor of love, ever-expanding and aided by its community’s handy members.

In 1986 the dining room was added with a huge fireplace. The masonry work was done by the Jacobs family from Castanea. Etchings created by hand are featured around the windows, and Craig Brady was commissioned for wood carvings all around the restaurant.

The PA Room was added in 1991, providing a space for large family gatherings of up to 36 people. A visit to Restless Oaks has always been, and will always be, about family.

After a hearty meal, patrons can visit the gift shop and find handcrafted goods made by local artisans and books written about beautiful Central Pennsylvania.
