The Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) are a nationally accredited program that provides educational training, business resources, and experienced no-cost, confidential consulting to small business owners and entrepreneurs. The Pennsylvania SBDC has a statewide network of 15 centers and outreach locations to serve small businesses. The PennWest Clarion SBDC is one of the 15 Centers and is responsible for 10 counties including Armstrong, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Potter, and Venango. The Center's team of five business consultants travel throughout this territory meeting one-on-one with individuals looking to start a business as well as small business owners and entrepreneurs. The SBDCs at PennWest Clarion, Penn State and University of Scranton established the Agriculture Center of Excellence to outreach and assist agriculture and ag related businesses, which includes but is not limited to farmers, food producers, food manufacturers, food establishments and the lumber industry.
