The Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to serving the residents of northwestern Pennsylvania since 1964. Focused on fostering economic, environmental, and social well-being, the Council provides critical leadership and resources to drive community improvement projects that enhance the quality of life in the region.
Our mission is to empower northwest Pennsylvania communities by delivering technical and financial assistance to community groups pursuing impactful projects. We bridge the gap for organizations lacking the legal or operational structure to secure resources, services, or manpower necessary to achieve their goals.
Penn Soil RC&D is committed to advancing initiatives across four key areas:
-Water Management: Promoting clean water initiatives and sustainable water resource use.
-Agricultural Land Management: Supporting sustainable farming practices and preserving vital farmland.
-Forest Land Management: Encouraging forest conservation and sustainable timber practices.
-Community Development: Enhancing infrastructure, facilities, and programs that improve the overall quality of life for residents.
We collaborate with community groups to turn ideas into actionable projects that make a difference. From environmental conservation to community development, we ensure resources and expertise are accessible to those working to improve our region.
