Learn More About PA SFI IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Program is a fully independent forest certification program dedicated to the long-term health and sustainability of forests. More than just a certification standard, SFI represents a dynamic community committed to the future of forests and the environmental, social, and economic benefits they provide.

At the heart of the SFI community are SFI Implementation Committees (SICs), a network of 34 committees spanning the United States and Canada and involving nearly 1,000 dedicated volunteers. These committees lead local initiatives that have a profound impact on communities, including:

-Logger and Resource Professional Training: Ensuring responsible practices in forest management.
-Landowner Outreach Programs: Promoting education on sustainable forest management techniques.
-Community Engagement: Supporting forestry-related projects that enhance local ecosystems.

The SFI of Pennsylvania plays a pivotal role in advancing responsible forest management across the state, providing training, outreach, and leadership to promote sustainability, biodiversity, and the long-term vitality of Pennsylvania’s forest resources.
