Learn More About EDINBORO AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Edinboro Area Historical Society (EAHS) is dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and celebration of the rich history of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, and its surrounding areas. Through events, programs, and a growing collection of historical materials, EAHS works to connect the community with its past while fostering appreciation for its cultural heritage.

At EAHS, we strive to:

-Collect and Preserve: Safeguard the stories, artifacts, and documents that capture the history of Edinboro and adjacent regions.
-Promote Local History: Host engaging programs and events that educate and inspire.
-Connect the Community: Encourage participation, share experiences, and foster pride in Edinboro’s heritage.

Our headquarters, the Doucette House at 126 Water Street, serves as both a museum and a hub for historical exploration.

Explore Our Collections: Dive into local history with resources like a complete census collection, archival copies of the Edinboro Independent, and more.

Museum Hours: Open Tuesdays and Saturdays, 9 AM – 12 Noon. Please call ahead if visiting from out of town to confirm availability or arrange an alternate time.

The Edinboro Area Historical Society hosts a variety of events, including our popular Blueberry Social and other community gatherings. These events provide opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with Edinboro’s history and connect with like-minded individuals.

We welcome volunteers and community members who are passionate about preserving Edinboro’s history. Whether through volunteer work or by sharing your own stories about Edinboro’s past or present, your contributions are vital to our mission.
