The Elk County Planning Department, a key branch of county government, plays a vital role in managing land use and development across Elk County, Pennsylvania. Our team works to support local municipalities, particularly those without a Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO), ensuring that development aligns with the Municipal Planning Code (MPC).
Key Responsibilities:
-Land Use and Development Oversight: Collaborating with the Elk County Board of Commissioners and the Elk County Planning Commission to manage responsible development.
-Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program: Administering grants that support community growth and infrastructure improvements.
-Housing Programs: Managing initiatives for accessibility modifications and home rehabilitation to enhance quality of life for residents.
