Armistead Wood Design is owned and operated by Matt Armistead in Bellefonte, PA, and produces custom, heirloom-quality furniture and other wood creations. I have always had a thirst to create and build. My interest in woodworking began when I was in high school on annual trips to visit family in Georgia where I was exposed to tools that I normally did not have access to and would spend hours in the shop. With a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Delaware, and a Master's Degree in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine from Penn State University, I began my career as an athletic trainer. I worked with several athletic teams over my career, managing and rehabilitating their injuries. When downtime allowed (mainly winter and summer breaks) I would spend most of that time creating and building projects. As I have grown, learned, and created more, I decided that I would like to take my 'DIY' attitude of making items for our own home and share my craft with the world!
