Project Details

The Flaming Foliage Visitor’s Center in Renovo, Clinton County, serves as a gateway for thousands of visitors attending the annual Flaming Foliage Festival. Located at the intersection of two scenic Pennsylvania Byways—Route 144 and the Bucktail Trail (Route 120)—the center is a focal point for showcasing the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. This project aimed to further enhance the visitor experience by upgrading the facility to better serve its guests and support community events.

The enhancement project focused on several key improvements to the Flaming Foliage Festival building, transforming it into a more accessible and functional visitor information center. One of the major upgrades was the creation of an ADA-compliant entrance and an ADA unisex restroom, ensuring that the facility is accessible to all visitors. The interior of the building was enhanced with knotty-pine walls and insulation, which not only improved aesthetics but also provided better thermal regulation.

Additional upgrades included the installation of a 30-gallon water heater for the restroom, the purchase of rustic brochure and magazine displays using products sourced from within the Lumber Heritage and PA WILDS region, and the acquisition of picnic tables and benches to enhance the outdoor space. A new entrance door and property signage were also added to improve the overall functionality and visibility of the center.

Electrical improvements were another crucial component of the project, enabling the center to supply electricity to vendors during the Flaming Foliage Festival and other community events. These enhancements make the center more versatile and capable of hosting a wider range of activities, benefiting both the local community and visitors.

The Flaming Foliage Visitor’s Center now stands as a testament to the region’s commitment to promoting its natural and cultural resources. By providing a well-equipped and welcoming space for visitors, the center plays a vital role in supporting local tourism and community engagement. The upgrades ensure that the center can continue to serve as a hub for information and activities, enriching the experience of those who come to enjoy the Flaming Foliage Festival and explore the beauty of Clinton County.
