Grants and Mini-Grant Opportunities
The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) proudly supports projects that celebrate and enhance our region’s rich history, vibrant culture, outdoor recreation, and conservation efforts. Our grant programs focus on projects where these themes intersect, fostering initiatives that make a lasting impact across our communities.
Mini-Grants
Funded through the Pennsylvania Heritage Areas Program Fund and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, our mini-grants are designed to bring innovative ideas to life. Eligible applicants include non-profits, municipalities, COGs, Conservation Districts, educational institutions, and Housing and Redevelopment Authorities. All projects must be located within the LHR boundaries, which span 15 counties, including Warren, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Lycoming, and more. (If applying from Indiana, Cambria, or Clarion Counties, contact us to confirm eligibility.)
Eligible activities for mini-grant funding include:
- Educational resources promoting the forest products industry and regional heritage.
- Media projects highlighting history, diversity, and recreational opportunities in the region.
- Outdoor recreation projects aligned with LHR themes.
- Packaged itineraries and tourism products.
- Elements from existing plans like trails, watersheds, and greenways.
- Projects inspired by the LHR Diversity Study or related to diversity and inclusion.
