LHR Board Member, Amy Shields, Recognized Among Pennsylvania’s “Agriculture Power 100”

The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) is thrilled to announce that board member Amy Shields has been named among Pennsylvania’s “Agriculture Power 100” by City & State Pennsylvania Magazine. This prestigious list, released in conjunction with Ag Progress Days, highlights the top 100 individuals who have made significant contributions to Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry.

Celebrating Excellence in the Forest Products Industry

Amy Shields, the Executive Director of the Allegheny Hardwood Utilization Group (AHUG), has been recognized for her remarkable influence and impact within the forest products sector. Known for her effective representation of an industry crucial to Pennsylvania’s economy, particularly Cherry hardwood, Amy has consistently advocated for the sustainability and economic importance of forest products.

Amy’s background in the lumber business and her leadership in promoting the industry’s interests have made her a standout figure. Her dedication to advocating for the forest products industry has not only elevated AHUG but has also brought significant attention to the economic and environmental benefits of sustainable forestry practices in Pennsylvania.

Recognizing Industry Leaders

In addition to Amy Shields, PFPA Executive Director Matt Gabler was also honored on the Agriculture Power 100 list. Gabler, a twelve-year veteran of the legislature, has been instrumental in growing PFPA’s membership and advocating for the industry at the State Capitol. His contributions alongside Amy’s highlight the robust representation of the forest products industry within Pennsylvania’s agricultural sector.
