PA Route 6 West

The Clinton E. Wilder Museum was established in 1990 by National Forge Chairman, Robert O. Wilder and dedicated to Clinton E. Wilder, one of the company’s original founders. The museum is housed in the vacated Irvine Elementary school on Erie Avenue.  The museum has over 20 areas displaying early settlers of Warren County, from Native American artifacts to military collections dated from 1860’s to the 1990’s.

Just past the Museum along Route 6 is the Warren County Visitors center. Stop and learn the story of how the Arch in St. Louis has routes from Warren County.  There is a miniature statue replica on the property and this can be seen from Route 6.  Also the helpful staff at the visitor Center can help you decided the best places to eat and stay.

Warren Players was organized on November 6, 1930 by a group of seventeen individuals who shared an interest in theater. This local theater still holds productions from local talent and entertains Warren in the arts.

The theatre is located in downtown Warren. There is so much to enjoy in the downtown. Parking is plentiful as well. Be sure to leave extra time to walk the streets and meet the shop owners.

Named in honor of Chief Cornplanter, the famous Native American leader of the Seneca tribe, who maintained peace between the fledgling United States government and the Iroquois from 1784 to 1812. Today, Cornplanter State Forest covers 1,585 acres

The 805-acre Chapman State Park includes the 68-acre Chapman Lake on the West Branch of Tionesta Creek.

Adjacent to state game lands and the Allegheny National Forest, Chapman is an oasis of recreational facilities in a vast area of wilderness.

The grounds have all the amenities needed for a day enjoying the great outdoors. Bring your tent and your camera.

This 23.1 mile trail is divided into two loops by State Road 3005/Pleasent Drive. Due to steep side slopes, the ATV rider may experience difficulty in some sections. The southern loop is 10.8 miles and rated more difficult. The northern loop is 11.1 miles and is rated most difficult.

Both trails are one-way travel except where otherwise posted.

During the winter season this dual-use trail provides snowmobile access fro mthe northwest to the Allehgeny Snowmobile Loop system.

This trail is outstanding. It is closed to atv’s in the spring and fall, so you have it all to yourself. Riding the west loop backwards is my favorite, most of the atv traffic is slow due to the technical nature of the trail, and the faster bikes can be heard well in advance. During spring thaw, the trail is nearly unrideable due to the surface being either thick clay or very abrasive limestone powder. If you know what you are doing, you can make the east loop super long by riding into the state game lands and up to hearts content and then riding the tanbark trail back towards Rocky Gap with a little road riding to link it up. There are lease roads to the east of 337 that minimize the time on pavement. You can also make a nice loop down thru Morrison Run and back up by the radio tower at the top of Mohawk Ave with numerous off-road routes back to the west loop.

This winery, with its nature and wildlife theme, opened its doors in November 2007 and the response has been overwhelming. The winery is nestled in the beautiful mountains of the Allegheny National Forest in Warren County and located directly off Route 6, one mile east of the traffic light in Sheffield, PA. The tasting room and gift shop provide a comfortable “woodsy” atmosphere where visitors are encouraged to sample from a wide selection of wines from dry to sweet. HAND MADE SPIRITS, USING LOCAL GRAINS AND PURE ALLEGHENY MOUNTAIN SPRING WATER

Sam Cummings, Jr. and Tom Jones started their distillery from scratch and it is their goal to make CJ Spirits a premier tourist destination and also a world class producer of fine spirits.  It is located along historic Route 6 in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest. Stop by for a tour and a tasting or enjoy a quick lunch in the modern dining area.

The Kane Depot is also home to ArtWorks at the Depot, a local artists’ cooperative.

The old Pennsylvania Railroad Depot was constructed in the late 1800s. It is being transformed into the Kane Railroad Depot and Museum to preserve the transportation heritage of Kane. It will be a community museum and cultural center housing ArtWorks a local artist cooperative.

The Depot gallery sells fine art and crafts that reflect the region’s inspiring landscapes, traditions and rich heritage.  The artwork is displayed in the restored Kane Railroad Depot which also showcases old treasures of local history and railroad memorabilia.

Flickerwood Wine Cellars, known as the Wine that Rocks, opened on Memorial Day Weekend 2000 with 3 employees and 4 varieties of wine. Now after 15 years we have about 15 employees, 2 additional locations, and 30 varieties of wine. We are humbled by this and thank all of our wonderful clients over the years. Many of you have become extended family members.

We love wine and we love rock and roll. Our dad, Ron, the original FWC wine maker is the best drummer in the state.  He has been playing drums since he was 12 years old and his current band will rock once a month as the house band at our winery.

While sampling the wine in the Flickerwood Lounge you can enjoy a bite to eat and plenty of conversation.
