Pennsylvania’s forests reflect a history of choices—from peaceful coexistence between humans and the forests to the massive harvesting of the forests in the late 1800s. Pennsylvania’s borders encompass 17 million acres of forestland, almost 4 million of which are publicly owned. However, more than 12 million acres are under private ownership. Which of today’s choices will affect Pennsylvania’s forests of tomorrow. This short video talks about those choices, the history of previous choices, and the opportunities of today.
